Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"This shop was originally near to old Nibong Tebal bridge. Hence the name Titi Bawah but they moved just recently early 2023. Tried their clear soup maggi, it was delicious. Will visit again to try their tomyam. Also have stalls selling satay, grilled skewer/otak2 and rojak here."
"The tomyam noodle is superb. Thick and flavouful broth goes very well with instant noodle. There is a huge variety of ingredient available to choose from. The price is fairly reasonable. Clear broth or hot and spicy broth is also available. Side dish are also recommended here. The blanched octopus and steamed "lala" is very nice as the ingredients is fresh. There is a satay stall there which is very nice."
"The restaurant serve very nice tomyam noodle. There is a lot of seafood varieties for self pick. They even have the frog as choices. Price is reasonable. The only drawback is sometimes there is many flies."
"Quite a nice Tom Yum soup with a great variety of ingredients you can choose from of course price may varies if you choose their XXL prawns etc. I got my bowl for RM32. It may sound expensive but with 3 giant prawns, many slices of fish, scallops ultimately may be quite resonable in a way. You can consider try their longan drinks why pretty nice especially with hot and spicy Tom Yum soup. Setback is their location where I stay in Pulau Penang going their took me almost 1 hour plus to reach. It’s store is very local style. No frills no gimmick."
"My local friend brought me here. I arrived around 6pm and there were already a few customers dining in. There’s a wide variety of add-on options available. I chose several hotpot ingredients along with fried fish, and the prices are fairly reasonable. The food arrived quickly, though it made my egg a bit messy. I really enjoyed their tomyam soup base, the broth was thick and flavourful and it paired perfectly with instant noodles. You can also add some lemon juice from the table into your soup, which enhances the flavour even more. The restaurant a bit hot. It’s better to visit earlier, as the place gets busier during dinner hours. Overall, this is a great spot for a tasty dinner. If I happen to pass by again, I’ll definitely visit."
"I would prefer the soup base instead of tomyum. A lots of add on selection available. Night time do have other food stalls, satay, rojak available."
"One of the best seafood noodles. You can add anyone of the 30+ variety of food to the noodles and they'll cook it fresh from the pot. Try the tom yam, you can customise the level of spicyness from the soup. You won't be disappointed"
"Travelled all the way to Nibong Tebal for Ah Thai Tom Yam at Kedai Kopi Hai Hong, which is the favourite of many locals there. Famous for Tom Yam, satay and squid. Fresh ingredients cooked with tom yam or clear soup. You can choose to eat with all sorts of noodles or porridge. Satay also a must-order appetizer. Another hitto item is their sotong (squid) with fried garlic, soy sauce, oil and chili sauce. So sedap. Open air dining area, flies around. Quite spacious but always full house during dinner time. So pick the right time to go, slight before and after normal dinner time would be nice. Price wise reasonable."
